What Our Clients Say

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ireland with Green Door Irish Tours. Our tour managers made us feel at home and our visits to the surrounding area and further took us to fascinating ancient castle sites, even prehistoric structures, a cheese factory, the natural wonder of the Cliffs of Moher, just to mention a few. Visiting a local pub on its music night was a treat, too. We would highly recommend this experience!

B & K Swen

I had an absolutely fantastic tour! We saw so many fantastic sites - some touristy spots, some not, and spent each night staying in the most beautiful old house, eating the most delicious home-cooked food.

Kate

Emma always had something tasty in the kitchen so that we could just go grab a snack or make a pot of tea. The flower gardens were delightful. It was interesting to learn bits of history, both ancient and modern, at several of the sites we visited. The Shannon River cruise was relaxing and beautiful. But my favorite of all was our Pub Night of community fun and traditional music.

Green Door Tours has awakened and nourished my love of Wild Ireland. All of our expertly planned and executed day trips from Shinrone showcased the region’s historical and cultural sites. And the pace that we set every day always gave us time to stop and smell the roses. Living for a week at Bellefield House, in a relaxed family atmosphere with gourmet meals prepared by our host, was the height of comfort and relaxation.

We had a fabulous trip to Ireland with Green Door Tours. Emma's home cooked meals, using farm to table produce and fabulous family recipes, made the stay at the beautiful Bellefield House sublime. We toured the Rock of Cashel, the Cliffs of Moher, Birr Castle, learned about my husband’s family heritage, roamed the gardens of Bellefield House, among other intriguing places. Choosing Green Door Tours provided us an authentic experience of the Irish culture.

Denise

Ireland was everything I dreamed it would be and Green Door Tours made it so special! I was on the trip without a partner, but I had the chance to grow so much closer to the other people on the trip, especially over dinners together in the house with the best homemade food I’ve ever had in my life. The tour was great because though we saw so many sites and had so many unique experiences (I got to play the fiddle in a real Irish pub!), we also had plenty of time to settle down and savor the experience while we relaxed together in a beautiful house and wandered the sprawling gardens on the property.

Lily

Every effort was made to make us comfortable,, keep us very well fed, and to show us not only the sights, but how people live. Special touches included an evening lesson on baking scones, and brown bread with just out of the oven tastings. Including Dr. Fox’s research of our Irish genealogies was unique. Live music night at the pub should not be missed. The rural setting in a famous garden is relaxing.

Martie

It was a pleasure to be immersed in the culture and the natural beauty of the Quiet Side of the country, all from an exquisite home base and without rushing around from one tourist hotspot to another. Emma was the perfect host, tour guide, coordinator and chef. See you in 2024!
